The NZPP General Secretary called for the perpetrators of these crimes to be swiftly brought to justice. Anil Sharma added that Mr. Roshan reiterated the support of the party to the Indian Government and the people of India in their efforts to fight terrorism and violent extremism, and to carry forward the peace process for the Jammu and Kashmir region.

According to reports, the bombings ripped through the Pulwama province of Jammu and Kashmir, which is in the northern Indian region on 14th February. The bomber used a vehicle packed with explosives to ram a convoy of buses carrying Indian security forces on the heavily guarded Srinagar-Jammu highway, causing deep shock and anger among Indians worldwide. The entire international community has condemned the deadly attack at the Jawans that has left at least 40 paramilitary personnel dead and many critically wounded.

Joga Singh from NZPP labelled it as a despicable act of cowardice and offered condolences to the affected families.

“An attack on the country’s paramilitary forces who were travelling to their destination on duty is not just a despicable act of cowardice, but also a strongly condemnable act. My deepest condolences to all the families affected by this tragedy," Joga Singh said.

Anil Sharma said, “We are grateful to the New Zealand Government who have also issued a national statement expressing solidarity with the people of India and have condemned this atrocious act of terrorism. It is heart-warming to see that USA, United Nations, Russia, Australia and Saudi Arabia have also condemned this incident and are standing with India following the Pulwama attack.”

Roshan Nauhria said a strong action against Pakistan is warranted to stop the terror attacks and all activities related to this form of crime. “We have to stop groups that propagate and shelter terrorism with a tough hand. We have to deny safe haven and support to the countries who are funding these terrorists. The world is in need of peace and for that the people of India need to work together as a united force against terrorism. It is time we put a stop to this once and for all.” Roshan said.
